PPD Skin Test
All persons who present for a PPD are given a risk-assessment form to complete. Each assessment form is evaluated for the need for a PPD or a screening letter. A screening letter is given in lieu of a PPD to those who have no risk factors.
PPD skin tests are done for those who are high-risk. High risk groups include those who are a medical or population risk, or those who are a contact to an active TB case. These skin tests are done at no charge.
PPD Skin tests are also done on all Kanawha County Students free of charge.
PPD’s and screening letters are given each Monday on a walk-in basis from 8:00 am-3:30 pm. If you receive a PPD, you must return to CCHD within 48 hours to have your PPD read. If you do not return during your specified time period and the test has to be repeated, there will be a $15.00 charge.
